After Earth (2013)

A millennium following catastrophic events that forced humans to flee Earth, Nova Prime has emerged as the new abode for mankind. Renowned General Cypher Raige returns home after a prolonged military assignment to reconnect with his distant family, intending to embrace his role as a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai. When a barrage of asteroids inflicts damage upon Cypher and Kitai's spacecraft, they find themselves crash-landed on an unfamiliar and perilous Earth. With his father gravely injured in the pilot's seat, Kitai embarks on a perilous journey across the hostile terrain to retrieve their distress beacon.
