Benno macht Geschichten (1982)

Benno, a clever lad hailing from Berlin, isn't exactly a troublesome case, although his parents find themselves grappling with his antics. Their struggles, however, stem not solely from Benno, but from the lack of attention he receives. A chance encounter on a train introduces him to Oskar Schrader, an elderly gentleman with a penchant for cooking, watch collecting, and performing magic tricks, all while residing amidst nature's embrace. A genuine bond forms between them, leading to Benno spending his school breaks with his newfound friend. Oskar, a solitary figure residing in a garden enclave, navigates interactions with both amiable and less-than-friendly neighbors. Benno and his pal Mutz seize the opportunity to engage in playful pranks around the neighborhood, targeting characters like the grumpy animal enthusiast Irma Kalweit and the impertinent risk-taker Ralf Klotz.
