Die Hard 2 (1990)

A year following his courageous actions in Los Angeles, John McClane, an off-duty police officer, finds himself in an unfortunate situation at the worst possible moment. On a wintry Christmas Eve, while awaiting his wife's arrival at Washington Dulles International Airport, a group of terrorists seize control of the air traffic system. Their objective? To liberate a South American military leader and drug trafficker en route to the US for drug-related allegations. With the task falling on McClane's shoulders to confront the terrorists, he must navigate through challenges posed by an incompetent airport chief, an uncooperative counter-terrorism unit, and the safety of not only his wife but also the passengers aboard the airplanes stuck in an endless holding pattern above.
