Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988)

A seasoned con artist named Lawrence Jamieson resides in an opulent seaside resort, indulging in the extravagant rewards of his deceitful schemes. However, his comfortable existence is disrupted when a rival conman, Freddy Benson, arrives on the scene with his uncouth tactics. Mistaking Freddy for the notorious scammer known as 'The Jackal', Lawrence decides to eliminate him. Confident in his own cunning abilities, Lawrence proposes a high-stakes challenge to Freddy: whoever successfully cons the wealthy American heiress Janet Colgate out of $50,000 first can remain in the town, while the loser must depart.
