East of Sumatra (1953)

Duke Mullane, overseeing operations at a tin mine in Malaya, embarks on an expedition to a remote island to establish a new mining venture amidst the dense jungle. Welcomed by the indigenous population, particularly the captivating dancer Minyora, Duke soon discovers her betrothal to the island's ruler, King Kiang. However, a sequence of misfortunes unfolds, leading to a shift in King Kiang's demeanor from warmth to animosity. Stranded on the island with his team, Minyora, and his former love interest Lory, who is now romantically involved with his superior, Duke faces a complex web of relationships and challenges.
