Story :

Vada Sultenfuss has an intense preoccupation with mortality. With her mother deceased and her father operating a funeral home, death is a constant presence in her life. In a bid to catch the eye of her English teacher, whom she harbors affections for, Vada enrolls in a summer poetry class. Despite her quirks and fixations, her steadfast best friend Thomas J., who is plagued by severe allergies, remains by her side.
