Police Academy (1984)

Under the new regulations set forth by the Lady Mayoress, eligibility to join the Police Force is no longer contingent upon factors such as sex, weight, height, or intelligence. This policy shift results in a wave of diverse individuals entering the Police Academy, much to the dismay of the training staff. Not all recruits have volunteered for this path, however. Mahoney, a social outcast, finds himself compelled to enlist as a preferable alternative to a stint behind bars. His arrival immediately irks the abrasive Lieutenant Harris, leading to clashes. Yet, as time progresses, Mahoney discovers a newfound sense of purpose in his role as a police trainee and resolves to remain, even as Harris becomes increasingly determined to see him ousted.
