Robot & Frank (2012)

Living alone, the cantankerous Frank follows a strict schedule that includes frequent trips to the nearby library, where he harbors a soft spot for the librarian. Worried about their father's welfare, his adult children decide to purchase a caretaker robot for him. Despite his initial reluctance, Frank gradually warms up to the idea as he realizes the practical advantages of having a robotic helper, such as enjoying well-balanced meals and a tidy living space. Over time, he forms a genuine bond with the robot, viewing it as more than just a machine. With the assistance of his mechanical companion, Frank's dormant passion for his previous illicit trade is reawakened, leading to unforeseen consequences.
