Reluctantly bidding farewell to the bustling streets of 1980 Manhattan, Catherine Clare embarks on a new chapter as she relocates to the secluded village of Chosen, New York. This move follows her husband George's career opportunity teaching art history at a quaint college in the Hudson Valley. Despite her efforts to create a cozy haven for her daughter Franny on the old dairy farm, Catherine discovers a growing sense of loneliness and seclusion. As she delves deeper into her surroundings, she begins to perceive a foreboding presence within the walls of their dilapidated home and within the confines of her marriage to George.
